CEDAR FALLS — City Council members approved construction of a new home for a local gymnastics academy Monday night.
Council members approved the sale of 2.3 acres west of The Gym/CrossFit Kilo on Venture Way in the Cedar Falls Industrial Park west of Hudson Road for $88,000 for the construction of a 11,000 square foot, $1.15 million building for a new home for Cedar Valley Gymnastics Academy.

“Each meet draws gymnasts and spectators from across Iowa,” Sturch noted.
Staff said the land purchase price is at market value and no other tax breaks or other incentives are being sought for the project.
The project would be sold to Midwest Development of Cedar Rapids and Skogman Homes, also of Cedar Rapids, would build the facility for subsequent sale to the McCormicks, Sturch noted in the staff report.
